At school, in a music lesson, our lovely teacher treated us with an assignment; "Make a song." After a few moments
of just staring at her, in disbelief, gasping for breath, we realised we would just have to. We formed a group of six; two
singers, a bass player, a drummer / lyric writer, a pianist and a blues-guitarist. We started with lyrics, wrote them together,
and the drummer brought them home. Next time we had a music lesson, he forgot to bring the lyrics with him, which caused the
rest of the band to kill him. After doing that, they said he's now going to write new lyrics, and perform them as well - the
singers would play percussions. The drummer said ok, but I'm not going to sing, I'll write a rap song. That way the song Suomalainen
Kansanlaulu saw daylight - combining blues, folk, latino, and rap.
